MAVERICKS COME BACK FROM OPENING LOSS by MoHilllax on March 13, 2008 On wednesday night, the Mavericks played an amazing game in Palo Alto. After their opening loss to the Chiefs, the mavericks came back in this stunning display of skill, talent, and determination. In the Opening quarter, we had a stunning display with 4 goals. While holding possesion for most of the period, the defense didnt have as much work to do.
In the Second quarter, the teams held each other at bay, and no points were put on the board. The tomahawks gained more possesion in this quarter and were able to put some shots on the goal. With outstanding goaltending, Abrams (14) kept the scoreboard down.
The third and fourth quarters went by with more play on both ends of the field. After no scoring in the second quarter, Jesse Mailloux, Eric Abel, and Danny Neal put 4 points on the board bringing it to 8 - 0. By playing smart and tactfully, the Mavericks pushed on in the fourth quarter.
After a quick goal by Corey Mailloux, the tomahawks came back with a goal, making the score 9 - 1. Then Abel, and Neal scored two more bringing it to 11 - 1.
